According to a tweet from the developer and secret tip Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is working on a way to allow users to create posts from a desktop or laptop browser.
The feature is reportedly being tested internally and the only way to create Instagram posts at this time is via an app or solution that can appear on desktop browsers like Chrome. This happens to be one of Instagram’s most requested features.
Paluzzi released a few pictures showing what the new feature is currently in testing like although we have to point out that there may be changes made by Instagram before the new feature is fully rolled out.
Creating a post from the desktop on Instagram seems similar to how to make a post using the Instagram application. Similar to applications, there is a button at the top of Desktop View (a “+” icon in a round box) that lets you create a post from your desktop or laptop screen.
Desktop users will be able to drag-and-drop images and videos and they will also have access to an editor with support for trimming and filters. Captions and locations can be added to photos and people in the images can be tagged. In advanced settings, it appears that users can disable comments.
Paluzzi has not given a date when Instagram will launch this. Of course we hope that these new features will be announced in the near future.
