Since its 2014 debut, Samsung’s smartwatch uses its own OS, Tizen OS. Now Samsung has switched the operating system to Wear OS.
This was also emphasized, as reported by Sam Mobile at the Google I / O 2021 event, (19/5/2021) the company not only announced Android 12, but also revealed a partnership between Samsung and Google.
Samsung may have three new versions of its smartwatch. This new model is being developed under the code names Wise, Fresh and Lucky. Wise has classic design elements with rotating bezel rings. The other two are Samsung’s sporty 2021 models.
Wear OS will be supported with One UI 3.x. This will be a new version of One UI for Samsung wearables.
Google and Samsung’s combined smartwatch operating system is claimed to be 30 percent faster in launching apps and has a longer battery life through a lower power core. Various advanced features are embedded in it, such as continuous heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking.
So the new watch will have a similar look and feel even though the underlying OS will be different. New SmartThings features will also be included. The entire interface will be revamped to make it easier to use.
Unfortunately, so far there is no certainty when the Samsung smartwatch with Wear OS will be released to the market. However, it is suspected that Samsung will announce the presence of a new smartwatch with Wear OS in July, along with the launch of a folding screen smartphone.
